Guilherme Oliveira holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas A&M, with postdoctoral studies in genomics and bioinformatics at York University (England) and the Pasteur Institute (France). Since 2020 he has been scientific director of ITV DS, where he has worked since 2015, initially as leader of the Environmental Genomics group. He was a full researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in Belo Horizonte, a member of the governing body of the International Society of Computational Biology, and president of the Brazilian Association of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, from which he won the Merit Recognition Award for services to the community and education. His work has received funding from Brazilian and international agencies. He is dedicated to research into the genetics and genomics of Amazonian biodiversity with a view to conservation and species of economic interest. During his career, he published more than 270 scientific papers and mentored more than 110 young scientists.

Bruno Victorasso is the administrative manager of ITV DS, where he has worked since 2017. With more than two decades of experience at Vale, he has developed a solid career in the areas of supplies, project management, and administration, working in operational and institutional units in the Belém and Carajás regions.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Faculdade Ruy Barbosa and two MBAs from Getulio Vargas Foundation, in the areas of Project Management and International Business and Foreign Trade. He completed his executive training with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Program (GRC) at the Dom Cabral Foundation.

Bruno has expertise in administrative management, national and international procurement, service contracting, project coordination, and the implementation of corporate governance processes, always with a focus on efficiency, innovation and sustainability.

Josiane Martins is the R&D Project Manager and Institutional Relations at ITV DS, where she has worked since 2016. A geologist with a master’s degree in Geochemistry from the University of Brasília (UnB) and a degree in Geological Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), she has extensive experience in the mining sector, having worked for mining companies, consultancies, and environmental agencies.

Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to managing research and development projects, articulating institutional partnerships, managing laboratories, and developing technologies applied to sustainable mining. Her work also includes coordinating R&D portfolios, organizing thematic forums, and implementing quality and environmental management systems, such as ISO 17025 and ISO 14001.

Josiane has expertise in geochemistry, mineralogy, data analysis, and laboratory techniques, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and the integration of science and industry.

Alexandre Aleixo holds a PhD in Zoology from Louisiana State University, a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and a livre-docência (habilitation) in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Helsinki. He teaches in graduate programs at the Emílio Goeldi Museum of Pará (MPEG) and the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). As a leader of the Environmental Genomics group at ITV DS, he works in zoology and animal genetics, with an emphasis on biogeography, evolution, molecular systematics, and taxonomy of Neotropical vertebrates, and has published more than 350 scientific papers.

Maria das Graças Ferraz Bezerra holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), a master’s degree in Political Science, a degree in Philosophy, and a specialization in International Science and Technology Policy. She has been working as a senior researcher at ITV DS, focusing on public policies, innovation, biodiversity, and biotechnology. She has led and participated in councils and coordinating bodies for technological innovation in the Amazon. She is also a collaborating professor and advisor in graduate programs.

Ronnie Alves holds a PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Minho. He is a senior researcher and leader of the Environmental Intelligence group at ITV DS. He has worked as a visiting researcher at international universities and as a postdoctoral fellow at renowned institutions. He is also a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Computer Science at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA).

Valéria Tavares holds a PhD in Biology (Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics) from the City University of New York / American Museum of Natural History (CUNY/AMNH), a master’s degree in Ecology, Conservation and Wildlife Management from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the same university.
As a full researcher at ITV DS, she leads the Biodiversity and Environmental Solutions group. A lecturer and advisor in graduate programs at various institutions, she has experience in phylogenetic systematics, taxonomy, mastozoology, ecology, and conservation, with a focus on bats (Chiroptera), geographic diversity, faunal monitoring, and community ecology analyses.

Amilton Sinatora is a metallurgical engineer from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). He is a retired professor from USP’s Polytechnic School and served as Innovation Manager at Villares Rolls. He was a full researcher and, since 2019, has been the Scientific Director of ITV MI.
His research focuses on wear and friction in mechanical components, with applications in mining, railways, and diesel engines. He has coordinated several academic and industrial projects, supervised 23 master’s thesis and 17 doctoral dissertations, and has extensive experience in technology transfer, innovation management, and researcher training. He is also dedicated to science education and outreach.

Gustavo Pessin holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a sandwich period at Heriot-Watt University (UK) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has worked in various research laboratories in Brazil, the UK, and Switzerland, focusing on mobile robotics and intelligent systems. He is a member of the graduate programs at UFOP/ITV, Unifesspa/ITV, and a collaborating professor at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). His research involves machine learning, intelligent instruments, and robotics applied to mining.

Philip Von Pritzelwitz holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP), a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in Naval Engineering from USP’s Polytechnic School. He has extensive experience in the naval and offshore sectors, having worked for companies such as Verolme and Odebrecht, and has been an independent consultant since 1995 in machine design and finite element simulation for companies such as Villares, Hidralmac, Emgepron, Imbel, among others.

He collaborated with the CENO-USP and LFS-USP laboratories, contributing to research in mechanical engineering and materials. He is currently a full researcher at ITV MI, working in the Tribology and Navigation research line, with a focus on industrial applications and technological innovation.

Vidal Félix Navarro Torres holds a PhD in Mining Engineering from the University of Lisbon (IST-UL), with two postdoctoral degrees in Geotechnics and Underground Mining. He also earned a doctorate from the University of São Paulo (USP) and has worked as a university professor at institutions in Portugal, Peru, Australia, England, and Brazil, including the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). Since 2015, he has been a full researcher at ITV MI, where he also coordinates specialization courses in Mining and Advanced Geotechnics.

He has extensive experience as an engineer and consultant in underground and open-pit mining, geotechnics, and tunneling across several countries. He has coordinated international projects such as MASyS (CYTED) and UCGCO2 STORAGE (EU). He has published 10 books, dozens of scientific articles, and participated in more than 30 academic boards. He has also organized 40 technical and scientific events and prepared over 50 consultancy reports.
