By combining socio-economics, environmental geology, and water resources, the researchers aim to understand the socio-environmental dynamics of the territories where Vale operates. The integrated approach generates scientific and technical knowledge to guide public policies, corporate actions, and territorial development strategies aimed at environmental safety and the responsible use of natural resources.
