The Professional Graduate Program in Innovative Technologies in Mining (PPGTIM), carried out under the agreement signed between the Federal University of South and Southeast Pará and the Vale Institute of Technology – UNIFESSPA/ITV, aims to: develop and apply innovative technologies in mining, especially in environmental, social, and sustainability aspects; contribute to the development of nature-based technological solutions; and prepare professionals to propose actions that reduce the mining sector’s technological dependence.

The course aims to promote sustainable solutions that can be applied in the different mining sectors. Interdisciplinary in nature, it awards the student a master’s degree in Mineral Engineering, with an emphasis on Innovative Technologies. The modular curricular structure includes compulsory and optional subjects, and students can develop their research along the following lines: Materials and Tribology in Mining; Innovative Solutions in Mineral Processes; Innovation in Mine Planning and Operations; and Automation and Computing Technologies in Mining.
